CURRICULUM VITAE

Guido Corazziari was born July.11.1952 in Bari ( Italy ). His mother was a fine art's teacher and and his father a movie's poster illustrator, Guido began drawing and painting as soon as he could. He grew up surrounded by art books and comics, a world populated by Botticelli and Superman, Picasso and Mickey Mouse. Further fueling his developing image bank were the icons from television's early years: Carosello's stars Calimero and Topo Gigio, and reel upon reel of animated toons from the likes of Disney, Hanna and Barbera and Max Fleischer. The flowering of pop art in the 60's, namely A.Warhol, made an indelible impression on Corazziari's teen years. The tail end of the 60's was a psychedelic eye-feast which blended sex, drugs and rock and roll culture. His art expresses the pure joy of the pop experience: the collision of Las Vegas neon with Pollock's abstract painting, movie's stars with new electronic aesthetics, Vargas pin-up with Tiziano's Venus.The 70's were spent in Florence, where Guido's artistic journey was one that easly conformed to the classic stereotype of bohemian artists. Here he worked as scene photographer for ART/TAPES, international art-video production center, and met the world's most innovative artists. In 1980 he graduated in Architecture. From 1981 he was a teacher in a permanent post at the Accademia di Belle Arti ( he held a course on Special Graphic Techniques ). In 1983 he won an EEC scholarship that gave him the opportunity to go to the "Domus Academy" in Milano, where he obtained a Master's degree in design, and collected new experiences in fashion circles. In 1984 he won the first prize for Italy in the contest Lino & Moda and he was invited to exhibit his works in Montecarlo. In 1987, thanks to a scholarship, he went to Paris ( a city he came back to many more times ) to the "Université de Marly Le Roi" and there he obtained a diploma in Serigraphy. He then worked as an architect and multimedia artist, and has exhibited his works in several showrooms and contests in Italy and abroad.
